FluencyPals aims to meet WCAG 2.2 AA so every young reader can take part.

Adjustable text size

Readers can grow or shrink the passage text with the Aa buttons on the reading screen, supporting developing and low-vision readers.

High-contrast, readable type

We use the Lexend typeface — designed to improve reading fluency — with generous line spacing and WCAG 2.2 AA color contrast on all text.

Clear microphone & timer states

Recording and timer states use color, motion, icons, and text labels together, so status never relies on color alone.

Keyboard & large touch targets

Buttons and the PIN keypad use large, well-spaced touch targets and are reachable with keyboard navigation and visible focus rings.
